Unusually, the Wiltshire town of Swindon is arguably best known for an innovative traffic management feature: its ‘Magic Roundabout’ junction made up of seven roundabouts. On a similar theme, the town is also home to the Great Western Railway Museum, STEAM, which reflects the country’s important role in the transport industry. That said, there’s no shortage of natural beauty in the surrounding area, particularly as it’s not far from the rolling landscape of the Marlborough Downs, the Cotswolds and ancient sites such as Avebury.
