What is the flower of Somerset?

Somerset’s county flower is the Cheddar Pink, or Dianthus gratianopolitanus. Also known as firewitch and noted for its aromatic pink flowers, the Cheddar Pink is a protected species in the UK. It was discovered three centuries ago in Cheddar Gorge, and is only found in a few sites in the Mendip Hills and at Cheddar.
